Fall 2006 Symposium at the Kingbridge Centre
The Barrie Region MISA Fall symposium "Data Security, Privacy and Access: Creating a Balance" was held at the Kingbridge Centre on October 24, 2006.
For effective evidence-informed decision-making to occur in school systems, it is important for school boards/authorities and schools to understand data security issues as well as issues of privacy and access.
At the symposium, participants had the opportunity to:
- Increase awareness and knowledge of Data Security, Privacy and Access
- Engage in focused conversation around Data Security, Privacy and Access
- Strengthen formal and informal networking connections
- Extend their understanding of the MISA initiative
The keynote address was given by Dr. Michael Geist, Canada Research Chair of Internet and E-Commerce Law at the University of Ottawa.
