Curriculum Services Canada announces Dr. Avis Glaze as Program Advisor for International Services


Curriculum Services Canada is pleased to announce the enstatement of Dr. Avis Glaze as our Program Advisor for International Services. In alignment with our vision to set a world standard for teaching, learning and teacher leadership, we are thrilled to have the knowledge and guidance of one of Canada’s outstanding educators.

Dr. Avis Glaze is a well-known international leader in education. As Ontario, Canada’s first chief student achievement officer and founding CEO of the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat, she played a pivotal role in improving student achievement in Ontario. Avis has worked at all levels of the education system and has served as senior advisor to Ministers of Education including Ontario, Canada and New Zealand. Avis Glaze has worked with educators and advised governments in over 20 countries and several American states.

As one of Canada’s outstanding educators, she has been recognized for her work in leadership development, student achievement, school and system improvement, character development and equity outcomes for all students. Recipient of numerous doctorates and awards, her two recent books which she co-authored are: Breaking Barriers: Excellence and Equity for All, and High School Graduation: K-12 Strategies that Work.

Her world-renowned focus on capacity building, improving student achievement, leadership development and school system improvement aligns with CSC’s vision and values. We look forward to working with Dr. Glaze and continuing to  collaborate with Ministries of Education, University Faculties of Education, teacher associations, and schools around the world focused on teacher leadership development.
