Description of the Placement Situation

The placement is a privately owned retail paint and decorating store offering residential and commercial customers a variety of products (e.g., paint, primer, wallpaper, sizing), tools (e.g., paint brushes, trowels, paint rollers, sponges), techniques (e.g., faux finishing demonstrations and classes), and in-store advice for decorating their home and/or business settings. The store is open seven days a week with a staff consisting of an owner, a full-time manager, and eight part-time staff.

The student will learn about the variety of products, tools, and painting and decorating techniques the store offers, and will assist customers with paint, wallpaper, tool, and techniques decisions.
