The manual specifically focuses on the area of International Business with an emphasis on Ontario and Canada. Students taking this course will learn about business opportunities that lie beyond our borders, and will explore the business relationships that the Canadian government and Canadian companies have established with other nations.
This topic is particularly important because the business world is changing rapidly and important things are happening in international business. Whether you know it or not, international business affects most aspects of our everyday lives. The food we eat, the cars we drive, the clothes we wear, and almost every other item that we buy has somehow been impacted/affected by international business. Furthermore, more than one in three jobs in Canada are related to international business. As a result, this is an exciting topic that will be important to you no matter which path in life you ultimately pursue.
In this manual, you will be introduced to the key terms and concepts related to the topic of international business. In situations where business issues are uncertain, an attempt has been made to present both sides of the argument. While you may not agree with everything that is currently going on in international business, hopefully you will become more informed about the changes that are taking place. Hopefully, this will also inspire you to look more closely at international business as an area that will bring you opportunities in the career that lies ahead of you.
