Students will study the levels of government from their own provincial government to the federal government and the electoral process. Activities include making comparisons between the different types of government in our world to describing the immigration process to become a new Canadian. This book provides you with 128 pages of ideas, lesson plans, information sheets and many follow-up activities that pertain to the local, provincial/territorial and federal government. The students will become more aware of the structure of each level of government, how it functions and how the three levels interrelate. They will also learn about its history, historical traditions, process, how a bill becomes a law, citizenship, Canada's Constitution and Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
