Content
This learning resource provides teachers and students with accurate, up-to-date, distinctly Canadian information and learning experiences that foster in-depth understanding of the topics and concepts. Part 1 includes background information and strategies for implementing the learning resource. Parts 2 and 3 identify the learning expectations that are addressed and include teacher notes and student worksheets. Each topic is presented in a context and modelled in examples, followed by problems for practice and consolidation of the learning. Diagrams, graphs, and definitions of related terms support the information. There are opportunities for students to use technology such as spreadsheets, graphing calculators, and the Internet. A worked example is an educational term so "worked" should stay in as strange as it looks

Methodology
This resource provides relevant activities and projects that enable students to use a variety of thinking and problem-solving skills. A number of the activities require students to interpret data and information obtained through research or interviews. Students are provided with opportunities to critically examine the views presented and to do further research before drawing conclusions and making decisions. This resource provides suggestions for cooperative learning, research projects, and exploratory activities.

Assessment
The Investment Portfolio Project assignment provides learners with a comprehensive task in which they can demonstrate their learning. The resource includes assessment tools such as pretests, tests, rubrics, self-assessment, and reflection tools.

Format
The learning resource is well organized and sequential in its presentation. The inviting layout, which includes charts, diagrams, cartoons, and illustrations, enhances the appeal for students. Glossaries and appendices support effective use of the resource. The durable stock allows pages to be copied for student use.

Bias
The resource presents a balanced perspective with various viewpoints represented. Diversity is recognized as students consider their personal goals and individual needs and develop a personal portfolio.
