All Children Can Achieve: A Focus on Equity of Outcome

The purpose of this webcast is to stimulate professional learning. The following questions are intended to promote thoughtful dialogue and inspire action that improves student achievement for all students.
- How will we become knowledgeable about the strengths and challenges of our students and our school community?
- How will I build on the strengths of my students and community?
- What actions can I take to enable students to develop the skills and confidence they need to reach their full potential?
- How can I ensure that my students' life experiences are reflected in my classroom, curriculum, and resources?
- How can I build choice, relevance, and active engagement into my teaching?
- How can I ensure that my high expectations are communicated clearly to my students and their families?
- What strategies can I use to engage all students meaningfully in their own learning?
- How can I create a learning community in my classroom?
- What specific actions can I take to make my community feel valued and respected in my school?
- What actions can we take to continue our professional learning?
- How can I connect the initiatives that currently exist to a focus on equity of outcome (e.g., character development initiative)?
The question is not, is it possible to educate all children well? But rather, do we want to do it badly enough?
