Grants for Teachers

The Curriculum Foundation (TCF) is Curriculum Services Canada's learning resource charity. TCF applies high standards of quality, reliability, and convenience to the creation of critically needed new materials that have been conceptualized and developed by teachers. Meet three members of the team of education professionals who carry out the mission of TCF.

TCF funds the creation of teacher-developed classroom learning resources that support student learning of existing Canadian curricula in either French or English. It also funds Professional Learning programs for teachers. TCF offers a limited number of $2,000 grants each year to teachers who have identified a critical need and have a solution to offer.

Purpose and Conditions

TCF helps students by helping teachers. Through our Grants for Teachers Program, we fund the development of classroom learning resources for teachers. These resources fill areas of critical need identified by teachers and provide enriched learning opportunities for Canadian students.

With the support of private donors, and selected corporations and foundations, Canadian educators can put their experience, knowledge, and creativity to work and make a real difference to student learning. Each year, a number of grants are awarded to teachers who propose innovative ideas for creating learning resources to share with their colleagues. An independent selection panel chooses the most promising proposals. We partner recipients with knowledgeable, experienced mentors who work with them to deliver the project to a high standard as well as to provide participants with a unique professional learning opportunity.

To date, more than $200,000 has been dedicated to teacher-developed resources, which are available to download for free on our website. For more information on projects that have been completed through TCF funding, please see Teacher-Developed Projects.
