One Janice Thomson Memorial Grant is given annually to a teacher, or teachers, for the development of creative and innovative learning resources. Projects may focus on History or the Arts, or may focus on special education or at-risk students in any secondary school subject area and grade level, or projects may be a resource for secondary school teacher professional learning in one of these areas.
Criteria for proposals for the Janice Thomson Memorial Award must:
The proposal must be an idea that has not yet been developed. The Curriculum Foundation provides grant recipients with an experienced mentor who assists in the development of each resource. All teacher-developed resources must be web-capable projects because they are posted on the TCF website so that any teacher may download them free of charge. The copyright for all other uses of projects will reside with the teacher-developer(s).
The deadline for applications for this grant is April 1st of the year in which you are applying. Your proposal must show how the project addresses all of areas outlined above. The project should be developed in a format that will allow it to be published on the Internet.
